Mathew Abbott is Lecturer in Philosophy at Federation University Australia. His first monograph – The Figure of This World: Agamben and the Question of Political Ontology – was recently published by Edinburgh University Press. The work defends and develops Agamben’s philosophy as post-Heideggerian political ontology. As well as modern European philosophy, Mathew’s wider research interests include aesthetics, philosophy and literature, and the philosophy of film.
