Ernesto Mieles-González is currently a PhD student of sociology at Free University of Berlin. The topic of his dissertation is “Legal Mobilization in Transitional Justice Settings”. He holds a Law degree and a Master’s in Law (MA) both from the National University of Colombia. He was a law clerk of the Constitutional Court of Colombia and a researcher at the Consultancy for Human Rights and Displacement (Codhes). He lectured at the Universidad de Los Andes (Bogotá). He was a visiting doctoral researcher in São Paulo, Brazil (DAAD/CAPES cooperation program). He was also a participant at the 2015 IGLP-Harvard Law School Workshop in Doha, Qatar, and the King’s College London Transnational Law Summer Institute in 2015. Research themes: social movements, global and transnational law, international criminal law, neocolonial global governance, tangled legal hierarchies, and transitional justice.
