Borxa Colmenero has completed his studies in Law in 2009, in the combined degree in Law and Political Science at the Carlos III University of Madrid. He later in 2014 obtained a Master´s degree in European Union Studies from University of A Coruña. In the same university, he then
became a Doctor of Criminal Law in 2016 with the distinction cum laude; with a thesis titled The faces of penality in the neoliberal political era. Epistemology, changes and continuities of contemporary penal policy. He is currently a member of the research group ECRIM Criminology, Legal Psychology and Criminal Justice in the 21st century – from the University of A Coruña. His research is mainly focused on the biopolitical studies applied to penalties under the neoliberal rationality and the forms of government of the society of control.
He has recently published Vidas Culpáveis. O controlo neoliberal do crime (Santiago de Compostela: Laiovento, 2017).
